In House Commercial Lawyer - Tech Sector
Hybrid / Flexible / 4 or 5 day week
Warwick (1 day)
We are delighted to exclusively partner with this technology driven organisation which is responsible for operating and planning key elements of Great Britain's power usage. They forecast energy demand in real time and ensure supply is there to meet the demand.
About the Role:
This is a newly created, growth role for a lawyer to work closely with the Senior Commercial Lawyer who leads on all commercial work for the Legal team. You will act as number two within this commercial sub-team and be part of a wider team of experienced lawyers (including those focusing on regulatory work). The role leans towards SaaS and IT but will include a range of broader commercial contracts, such as Procurement, Digital, Data & Tech, and Innovation.
You can expect:
- drafting, reviewing and negotiating supplier contracts
- focus on technology agreements (SaaS, AI, digital systems)
- advising stakeholders on risk
- supporting with procurement processes
- corporate affairs
- contractual disputes and escalations
- implementation mechanics, improving processes, templates and playbooks
- SLAs and performance calibration
- translating technical requirements into robust contracts
- working closely with highly technical IT stakeholders
- shaping the commercial side of the legal function
- good visibility within the business
Culture:
Culture wise, the organisation is diverse, supportive and collegiate. Culture and people are a strong selling point here.
The working environment is fast moving and the role would suit someone who is pragmatic and commercial.
Experience Sought:
The role would suit an agile and adaptable, commercially minded, and technically strong contracts lawyer with IT/SaaS experience.
Our client is open minded about PQE. A lawyer who is only 2 or 3PQE but has strong tech experience could work; alternatively, someone with more broad experience and greater PQE which includes tech (such that they have good experience and are comfortable working and advising independently in this space) could also be suitable.
Hybrid / Flex:
You will be expected in the office (Warwick) one day a week. This is a full time role but our client is open minded to those seeking 4 days or more flexibility.
Benefits:
- basic to circa £85k (dependent on experience)
- 15% bonus
- 12% pension
- great wider benefits package / annual leave etc
